Description: This is the Tanseisha version of the famous Goyo design (the Yuyudo Company also made one of these). It was produced in the 1980s: the carver was Uesugi Tadao, and the printer Sasaki Shigeru.

It is a very 'luxe' edition, with a beautiful pale grey mica background, and very delicate carving of all the hair.

(A number of people who see this in our shop ask about the apparent discrepancy between the date of this print, and the introduction of portable phones ... There is no discrepancy, as the item she is holding is ... a mirror.)


This particular print has apparently been framed at some point in the past, and the mica coating shows slight damage in the areas where the edge of the mat must have been, as you can see in some of the photos here ...
