Description: Known in English as 'Eight Views from the Environs of Edo', this set is another in Hiroshige's very large oeuvre of prints designed in groups of eight.

The same design set was produced by the Adachi Company is included in our Mokuhankan Collection, and you can see closeup images of those prints here. In the late 1970s, at a time when they had a very talented suite of craftsmen (whose names are all recorded in the documentation accompanying this set). They were at least partially targeting a foreign market at the time, because there is a comprehensive English explanation of all the prints included with the set.
