Description: Ido Masao was born in 1945 in Manchuria, which was then under Japanese rule. His family moved to Japan when he was two, and then to Kyoto when he was a teenager. There, in the ancient capital of Japan, he studied fabric dyeing and eventually woodblock printing.

During his long career he created a variety of print series, and this print depicting the idyllic village of Miyama (where traditional thatch-roofed homes have been preserved even today) comes from his '100 Views of Kyoto' series. The production is of high quality and the print itself is still in very nice condition.
