Designer: Kikugawa Eizan Era: Post-war | Currency: $ / £ / € Price: Description: The artist of this illustration, Kikugawa Eizan, was the most prolific, long-lived and skilled of the late followers of Utamaro who attempted to carry on their master's bijin-ga style after his death in 1806. This print is from the Bijin Rokkasen (美人六哥仙, "Beautiful Women as the Six Poetic Immortals") series. The angle of the stairs looks unnaturally steep, but this may have been calculated to show the beautiful figure of the woman climbing the stairs. There are some minor marks on this print.
