Description: This print is also known as "Lotus Pond at Shinobugaoka" (Shinobugaoka hasuike no zu), and is from the "Famous Places in the Eastern Capital" (Tôto meisho) series by Hiroshige. The original print was made in the 1830s, although this particular print is a post-war reproduction.

A man gazes at the temple in the middle of the lotus pond, visible between trees in this print, while two women with parasols, chatting among themselves, make their way to the temple entrance.

Bokashi gradation has been used in several places, giving depth and perspective to the print.
