Designer: Ando Hiroshige Era: Post-war | Currency: $ / £ / € Price: ![]() Description: This print is also known as "Enjoying the Cool of Evening on the Riverbed at Shijô" (Shijô-gawara yûsuzumi), and is from the "Famous Views of Kyoto" (Kyôto meisho no uchi) series by Hiroshige. The original print was made in the 1830s, although this particular print is a post-war reproduction. A small group, already perhaps a little tipsy, enjoys sake and a meal at Shijo-kawara in the cool of the evening. Lanterns are lit along the banks, illuminating other groups enjoying the evening in a similar way.
