Description: This is one print from the "Murasaki Shikibu Genji Karuta" ("Lady Murasaki's Genji Cards") series by Kunisada II depicting modern interpretations of scenes from the Tale of Genji. This particular print depicts "Yomogiu", chapter 15 of the Tale of Genji and number 15 in this series of prints. It presumably shows Genji meeting with Suetsumuhana, the "Safflower Lady" or "Princess", who has been waiting in her dilapidated residence for him for ten years.

There is some intricate karazuri blind-embossing in the print, and the hairlines of both characters have been very finely carved.

There is a small wormhole to the print, and there are a few very small stains to the paper.
