Designer: Sadahide Era: Meiji | Currency: $ / £ / € Price: Description: This is a print from the "Suehiro Gojusantsugi" ("53 Stations of the Tokaido in Fan Shaped Cartouche") series by Sadahide. This series depicts Tokugawa Iemochi (1846–1866), the 14th shōgun of the Tokugawa shogunate of Japan, and his troops proceeding to the capital during the Chōshū expedition. This particular print shows the troops moving through Tsuchiyama. Some nice bokashi gradation has been used in the print, and some sections of the trees have been carved to mimic brushstrokes.
