Description: One print from the "Flowers Of Edo" series by Toyokuni. This particular print shows actor Bando Shuka I as a Temple Acolyte (Chigo), representing the To Brigade, Tenth Group, Asakusa.

The series name, "Flowers of Edo", refers to fires. Each title panel for prints in this series shows the lantern and matoi (identifying standard) of one brigade of firefighters (hikeshi) assigned to a district.

The title gives the name or number of a brigade, its group, and its district. The kabuki scene chosen to match is depicted below it.

The carving technique used in one of the panels in the print to mimic woodgrain is a highlight.

The margins of the print have been trimmed, and there are some small marks to the print.
