Designer: Gekko Era: Meiji | Currency: $ / £ / € Price: Description: This is one print from Ogata Gekko's "Gishi yonjunana zu" ("Illustrations of the Forty-seven Loyal Retainers") series, depicting Chikamatsu Kanroku Yukishige, one of the forty-seven ronin. The caption next to the title tells us that Yukishige was of uma-mawari rank, with 250 koku stipend, and was aged 34 at death. The print has been delicately printed, and has some nice karazuri embossing to the title caption. There is one very small pin-prick to the print, and some ink offsetting from where a newspaper has been laid on the print in the past.
