Item from the Mokuhankan Flea MarketShukaido![]() Size: 34.9cm by 23.4cm (13.74 in by 9.21 in) | Enlargement | Shipping Code: [L] ? Designer: Gekko Era: Meiji | Currency: $ / £ / € Price: ![]() Description: This is one print from Gekko's twenty-four print "Comparison of Beautiful Women and Flowers" series. In this particular print, a beauty battles strong rain and winds, clutching her umbrella. The title box of the print has been blind-embossed with a floral pattern, and metallic pigments have been used to bring out certain sections of the beauty's kimono. A particularly interesting feature of the print is that the artist has evidently instructed the rain to be blind-embossed instead of printed with coloured pigments. There is a stamp to the upper margin of the print, and a few small marks. The left margin may have been slightly trimmed, and there is a light stain along the lower section of the print. ![]() ![]() Browse thumbnail pages of various selections from the catalogue ...
