Designer: Gekko Era: Meiji | Currency: $ / £ / € Price: Description: This is one print from Gekko's twenty-four print "Comparison of Beautiful Women and Flowers" series. A beauty takes a stroll in an iris garden, a few of the flowers she's picked in her left hand. A little frog amongst the flowers catches her eye, and she smiles, creating a lovely little snapshot of Meiji period life. Blind embossing to the kimono and title panel, as well as the use of metallic inks for features of the kimono, show the skilled craftsmanship of the print. There are a few very small ink stains to the print, along with faint general discolouration. The margins have been lightly trimmed, and a little red stamp appears in the upper margin.
