Designer: Kunichika Era: Meiji | Currency: $ / £ / € Price: Description: Product placement ... 1890's style! The series is 'Famous Products of Tokyo', and this one features a nori paste, sold in tins. A similar product is still very popular in supermarkets these days. The print has very high production values: delicately tinted gradations, fine hair carving, front rubbing on her kimono, a 'nunome-zuri' background (printed in imitation of fabric) ... The nori company must have been willing to pay quite a high price! The other two panels seem to be promoting some kind of financial services (lower right), and a dyer (lower left).
