Item from the Mokuhankan Flea MarketHana Chiru Sato (Murasaki Genji Karita)Size: 36.0cm by 25.0cm (14.17 in by 9.84 in) | Enlargement | Shipping Code: [L] ? Designer: Kunisada Era: Meiji | Currency: $ / £ / € Price: Description: One of a large set based on the chapters of 'Genji Monogatari', the old novel by Murasaki Shikibu. This image parodies chapter 11 - Hana Chirusato ('Village of Fallen Blossoms'), with the setting removed to the Edo era, in the Yoshiwara. It is quite an extensive production, with a large number of colors, blind embossings, and metallic pigments. The print is somewhat marred by the discoloration on the figures (this might be from powder abrading from some of the metallic pigments over the years ...)
