Description: This is one print from one of Hiroshige's largest print sets - the '69 Stations of the Kiso-Kaido', and is the station known as Niekawa. (The station number - 34 - is 'hidden' in the characters on the horse blanket ...)

The Kiso-Kaido was an inland route from Edo down to the western part of the country; quite a bit longer than the more well-known Tokaido route.

Carver: Koike / Printer: Noguchi
