Description: An interesting reproduction of a lesser-known Harunobu design. It references an old story about the founder of the Zen sect of Buddhism, who crossed a river on a straw, while travelling from India to China. He is here depicted in parody form as a beauty ...

The print is also unusual in that the figure is depicted in red outlines, rather than the more traditional black ink.

Made by the Adachi company in the post-war period.
