Designer: Sakai Hoitsu Era: Late Showa | Currency: $ / £ / € Price:  Description: A wonderful reproduction in the woodblock medium of an original painting from the Kano School. This was produced in 1983 by the Kyoto publisher Tanseisha, and is one of a set of similar editions they produced at that time. The prints are on a large scale, and took a very large number of blocks to make. This one is listed in their catalogue at 90 printing impressions. The carving team was led by Uetani Sadao, and the printers by Yoneda Kurazo. Here is the print in full view:  The names of the craftsmen:  The publisher's information is also stamped on the print. It was issued as a limited edition of 200; this is copy #29  In this style of printing (common in Kyoto, as opposed to Tokyo), white pigments are used, rather than letting the white of the paper show through.
