Rickshaw Cart is shipping!

I have a pile of topics waiting to be updated on these blogs, but there is just time for a quick one tonight.
How long does it take Apple to get a new phone/computer from conception to market? Half a year maybe? Well, Jed and I are in the same league! :-)
It was on April 25th this year that I received an email from him with the title: 'A crazy idea!' The email began: "I have a crazy idea for a creative side project. First of all, have you heard of Kickstarter.com? ..." He went on from there to outline his concept for a design that would incorporate both video game characters and old ukiyo-e style imagery. If you have been following this blog, you know the rest of the story of course (and if not, then the Kickstarter project page will bring you up to date).
In any case, the point of the post tonight is this photo, taken today, just about exactly six months after that email:
It's one of the desks in Jed's workroom (let's not talk about his taste in ties ...), and what we see there is the initial batch of Rickshaw Cart woodblock prints being prepped for shipment. By the time you read this, they will probably be at the post office and on their way.
I count 64 packages there, and over the coming weeks, these will be followed by more. A lot more. We have Kickstarter orders for 381 copies of this design; I have shipped to Jed 330 sheets so far, and the batch that will put us over the top is on schedule to be finished up around a week from now, and immediately expressed over to him.
Jed and I promised a November delivery for this design, so it does seem that we are on track to getting them delivered within that time frame. And if the people at Apple need some pointers on running an efficient production system, they know how to get hold of us! :-)
