Ukiyoe Heroes - Fox Moon - cloud block done ...

This Fox Moon print has a particular 'feature' that is going to make it a bit more difficult to make - it has two 'key blocks'.

The four figures are outlined in a normal way, and will be printed in a basic black tone as with most ukiyo-e work. But those outlines aren't the only ones on this print - the clouds are all formed of a series of thin curled lines, and these lines too will form the boundaries of colour zones.

This gives us two blocks that have to not only register with their respective colour zones, but they - absolutely - have to register with each other first. This is not trivial, as even the slightest mis-alignment between them will make the printing impossible.

Anyway, that cloud block is now done, and later today I'll have a go at registering them together:
