Ukiyoe Heroes : latest chart ...

Posted by Dave Bull on August 18, 2012 [Permalink]

I feel a bit sad that I haven't been able to bring more constant updates this week, but that's simply not possible just now. I'm hoping that once I get a few of the waiting jobs out of the way (the summer newsletter, my current Rickshaw Cart printing batch, a ton of waiting email, etc. etc.) I'll have time to take some photos, and get some actual meaty entries done ...

So all I have for you tonight is the latest graph of the project results - a wonderfully steady progress through the weeks ...

We're fabulously happy about the support, and me perhaps more than Jed, because what is not showing in that bare graph is the breakdown between his giclée prints and my woodblock versions. At the moment, this is standing at 2.56 to 1.

Incredible!

Dave, but surely you are being a tad modest here. If you count the Chibi prints, which people are electing to buy as well as the more expensive woodblocks the ratio becomes 1.71:1

And furthermore, if my maths is correct, the total money flowing towards woodblocks actually exceeds the money for glicees by 1.3:1 Plus, the overheads for packing and posting giclees will eat up more funds than will the woodblocks. I know I am showing my bias, but really the woodblocks are the main game here, especially when you consider that less than half the design are yet on offer as woodblocks.

It is an amazing vote for the woodblock - a landslide I'd say.
