Senshafuda Project - post-quake update

It's been more than a week since the quake, and - as you might expect - we haven't really been able to make much progress on our little project during that time.
As I mentioned in the previous post, the quake hit just a couple of hours before I was to meet designer Seki-san to finalize the sen-gaki (image outlines). I had then hoped we would be able to get together a couple of days later to do that work, but it wasn't possible. Her day job is with the 'Don Quixote' company, which probably means nothing to overseas readers, but which is a very well known discount department store. And - wouldn't you know - they have been deluged all week long with customers looking for emergency supplies such as portable gas stoves, flashlights, etc. etc. When I finally had a chance to talk to her on the phone today, she said that she even had to 'crash' there in the back room some days, they were so busy. She hasn't had a minute to even think about our work.
But things are settling down now, and we've got an appointment to meet tomorrow evening after she gets off work. We'll try and pick up just where we left off the day of the quake, finalizing the image details. Either she - or I, if she is still too busy - will then draw it up neatly, and it'll be sent to Sato-san the carver.
I just spoke to the two workers (Sato-san the carver, and Tetsui-san the printer) and they are both standing by, ready to get going as per the schedule. Calligrapher Tauchi-san hasn't yet sent me her drawings, but I just spoke to her on the phone and learned that she is all done, and was just waiting for my instructions.
So we are moving forward! Best case is that the carving will be underway in a few days, and should be done about a week to ten days later. Tetsui-san will be coming over to my place one day just at the end of the month, and we're going to size the paper together. He's never done that job before, and I myself am only just learning, so it'll be a case of the blind leading the blind, but I'm sure we can get it done satisfactorily.
We will then do some test printing, and once a good image is worked out, he'll get going on the edition proper.
More as it happens ... thank you for your patience, and please stand by!
