Description
A collection of ten match labels depicting landscapes in the artistic style of Hokusai. The printing blocks were carved by "Uemura".
The prints are numbered from left to right, top to bottom.
Top row:
Print 1: Ishiyama. The moon rises over a mountain near Ishiyama Temple.
Print 2: Meigetsu. A man steers his boat through a valley under a bright moon.
Print 3: Aki. A hut or temple perches on the side of a mountain in autumn.
Print 4: [?]. A flock of birds (possibly crows) descends on a tree on a mountainside.
Print 5: Yōrō. A man rests his feet at the Yōrō Waterfall in Gifu.
Bottom row:
Print 6: Oyashirazu. The formidable Oyashirazu Cliffs pierce the sky in Itoigawa, Niigata.
Print 7: Shōjō. A drunken shōjō sea spirit reclines on a sake barrel.
Print 8: Yuki. Some children roll a huge snowball under pine trees.
Print 9: Natsu no Irie. Summer descends on a riverside village.
Print 10: Eiji. A drowsy night-guard warms his feet by the fire.
