Description

A match label set depicting traditional toys, basically lined up with the season when they may be most used:

January: Battledore and Shuttlecock
February: Self-righting Japanese Doll
March: Dolls
April: Spinning Top
May: Kintarō Doll
June: Portable Shrine
July: Mt. Fuji and Bonsai
August: Spinning Lantern
September: Rabbit Bell
October: Sea Bream on wheels
November: Okame Mask
December: Chinese Top

The name 北総迂人 is included in all of the prints - this is another name used by the artist 宝田直, who was active in match label design groups of the early Showa period. The calligraphy on the envelope suggests that the set was produced in celebration of the birth of a child.
