'Chibi Heroes'
Display / Storage Cases
At last! The storage case / display stand for our Chibi Heroes print series is ready!
"How do I store my prints? How can I display them? Do I need to buy frames?" are some of the questions we receive about our subscription print sets, and after much experimentation and research, we have the answer to all those questions in one neat package. Here is our combination storage/display box ... the Chibi Heroes version!
The Chibi Heroes storage box ...
This box is an optional purchase - typically ordered together with the first print in the set, but also available later, if you wish. These are made for us locally here in Ome, our suburb of Tokyo (more about this below), and will ship directly to you from our workshop. As you can see from these photos, the box has room for the complete set of 24 prints in the series, and incorporates a display stand and acrylic dust cover (both of which store inside the box when not in use).
Rotate the prints frequently (and don't place this where direct sunlight will fall on the print surface), and you have the perfect solution for both long-term storage, and daily enjoyment of your collection! The 24 prints in their individual protective folders are accompanied by a title sheet which has a complete list of the prints in the set. The boxes are $30.00 (£, €, or ¥ billing also available), with a shipping cost of $9.00 (global).
Important note for previous Chibi Heroes collectors ...
During the first year that the Chibi Heroes prints were available, we had no case for them. Each print was mounted on a small slip of paper, and shipped in a clear plastic envelope. Many of those previous collectors may like to have this case, but that print packaging is not suitable for storing in this new box (each print would be rubbed by the print above it in the box.) But no panic! If you already have a set of Chibies, and order this box, we will include a full set of new mounting sheets for the set of 24 prints (you will have to make the changeover yourself, of course.) So if you are a previous collector, and want one of these cases, visit the subscription page, where you will see an option for purchasing the case by itself.
Close-up Note ...
We should emphasize that these cases are a bit different from the one that is being made for our Portraits series by a professional craftsman. These Chibi cases are made for us by a local 'Silver Center' - a place where local retired people gather to get work assignments. Some of these men do garden maintenance, others do odd jobs, and other use whatever skills they have to do various contract jobs sent to the Center by local companies. As a result - as you can see in these close-up photos - our Chibi cases have a bit of a 'handyman' feel to them, unlike the thoroughly professional cabinetry of our Japanese Portraits case. But given that these are around half the price, we hope you understand ...
Thank you for your patience during the long time it has taken for us to put this all together!
