Description: This design was originally created in the early 20th century, and published by Kawaguchi & Sakai at that time in limited editions. What we have here is a brand new print, pulled by our printer Numabe Shinkichi from the newer set of blocks carved for the publisher Shobisha in the 1950s.

We have really pushed Numabe-san hard to create prints that honour the quality and style of the original editions; we demand that he respect the colouring of the originals, and we reject any prints that show 'goma-zuri' (carelessly applied colour, resulting in a watery mottled effect - very common in modern shin-hanga reprints).
