Description: This is 100% gampi paper cut (by the maker) to 33 cm by 24 cm (slightly smaller than B4 size), in a pack of 5 sheets (packs of 10 are also available).

This gampi paper is quite old. Some years ago, we obtained two large packages of it that had been stored for many years. (From inspection of the original packaging, Dave estimates this as 'early post-war at the latest, and could actually be substantially older'.) One of the packages we are keeping for our own use here at Mokuhankan, and the other we are making available in our online catalogue.

This thin gampi can be glued directly to your wood blocks after printing/drawing/painting your image onto it, or you could lightly tack it (with spray glue) to stiffer backing paper, and use a laser printer to print the image, ready for gluing to your block, as frequently seen in Dave's video presentations.

Another appropriate use of this paper is in the conservation/restoration field, where it is commonly used for backing repaired areas of old prints.

Note about packing/shipping: Because this gampi paper is pre-cut into smaller sheets, it is not necessary for us apply any special shipping charges for it (unlike the large sheets in our catalogue). It ships the same way as our woodblock prints.
