Item from the Mokuhankan Flea MarketView of Shubi no Matsu![]() Size: 25.0cm by 38.0cm (9.84 in by 14.96 in) | Enlargement | Shipping Code: [L] ? Designer: Utagawa Kuniyoshi Era: Post-war | Currency: $ / £ / € Price: ¥ 13,000$ 92.00£ 68.50€ 80.50 ![]() Description: The "Shubi no Matsu" (Pine of Success) in the title was a famous pine tree located on the riverbank of nowadays Kuramae. In this print, it only peeks out slightly, surrounded by a fence on the right side. It is a unique composition typical of Kuniyoshi, zooming in extremely close on a corner of a stone wall where crabs and wharf roaches crawl about. In the far distance, a boat, people, and a bridge look tiny, while the dandelions at the top create a surreal atmosphere. This version is a post-war reproduction by the Adachi Company. ![]() Browse thumbnail pages of various selections from the catalogue ...
