Description: This accordion-style book, titled Kyōiku Azuma Bijin Jūni-kagatsu (The Twelve Months of Educated Beauties of the East), depicts scenes for each month across 12 woodblock prints, with one print pasted onto each page. Through the glamorous attire and lifestyles of women during the Bunmei Kaika (Civilization and Enlightenment) period, the work explores the themes of changing seasons and "education" (refinement).

It vividly portrays modern women of a new era, showcasing the unique Meiji-period blend of Japanese and Western styles, including Western-style umbrellas, brilliant kimonos, and fashionable hairstyles.

The version was published in 1906 (Meiji 39) by Narasawa　Kenjirō.

The pages are falling apart. July print was separated along the seam and patched at Mokuhankan. The prints are overall toned.
