Description: Kodama Kibo (1898-1971) was a Japanese painter born in Hiroshima Prefecture, and worked under Kawai Gyokudo. While exploring the nature of Japanese painting in a free and open environment, he studied Yamato-e, Nanga, and Ukiyo-e, and also developed an interest in abstract painting. He constantly pursued new forms of expression for the modern era, leaving behind a diverse body of work.

This work depicts a warm and cheerful spring scene, characterized by the rich colors typical of Japanese painting.

This print is a reproduction of a representative work by a master of modern Japanese painting, created using excellent printmaking techniques, and was published post-war by Kyoto Tanseisha.
