Description: These prints date from the 1970s/80s, and were made by the Kajikawa workshop, which was hired to produce a folio containing 20 triptychs (60 prints all). They were made at a reduced size (29.5 x 19.5cm) from the original Edo-era prints, which were in the large o-ban format.

This charming triptych shows a summer party during Edo pastime. Some people, most of them women, are enjoying a party inside different small boats gathered under the Azuma Bridge, whose wooden pillars are visible on the background. The center panel shows a standing beauty being admired by a seated man, two other women are enjoying the cool air under a roof. The left panel shows a man preparing some fish for the feast under the admiring eye of a young woman. The right panel shows another two women, one is smoking and the other just enjoying the breeze.

Great design that shows Kiyonaga’s skill in the use of fine details, joyful and elegant colors as well as interesting gesture positions for each figure.

Each print is lightly tipped into a paper mat. We will ship it in its original packing, folded in three. The displayed dimension is each print size.
