Description: This work was created by Katsukawa Shun'ei, one of the disciples of Katsukawa Shunsho, who created the style of sumo paintings.

This print depicts Tanikaze on the right and Taki-no-oto on the left. Tanikaze was a great sumo wrestler, renowned as one of the strongest in the history of sumo. At his peak, he went four years without a loss and recorded 63 consecutive wins, an incredible feat that greatly boosted the popularity of sumo during the Edo period.

This version is a post-war reproduction by Takamizawa Company.
