Description: This print is from the second volume of the "Masterpieces of Torii Kiyonaga" set, consisting of 14 prints. It was published in 1976 by the Adachi company.

Kiyonaga (1752–1815) paid special attention to the details of the costumes, therefore the colors are vivid and the lines of the figures are delicate and expressive. The print depicts 3 beauties crossing the Nihonbashi bridge in Edo (Tokyo). The beauty walking in the front, is dressed in a red kimono and white ’ageboshi’ headdress, which suggest that she is the courtesan of a wealthy man or samurai. The two female attendants following her, are dressed in green kimono. In the background you can see the Nihonbashi area with Mount Fuji in the distance.
