Description: This print is from the series, 日本木版画粋 (Masterpieces of Japanese Woodblock Prints), a collection of reproductions of various themes and designs published around 1924. The print quality is excellent (for most of the prints) and there are almost no traces of baren on the back, suggesting that they may have been at least partially machine printed or produced using collotype printing.

It depicts two mandarin ducks floating on a snow-covered pond. Yuzen was a painter of the Rinpa school, but primarily active as a fan painter in Kyoto from 1688 to 1703. He is famous for creating prototype designs for fans and kosode (short-sleeved kimono), which became the basis for the name "Yuzen patterns" used on kimono.
