Designer: Uemura Atsushi Era: Post-war | Currency: $ / £ / € Price:  Description: Atsushi Uemura (1933-2024) is known for his elegant nature paintings in the traditional Japanese style. He graduated from Kyoto City University of Arts in 1957. During this time, Uemura developed his own style of Nihonga and his love for birds heavily influenced his work. During his lifetime, he owned more than 1,000 birds of over 200 species, and his residence later became a research institute for the Japanese Society for Preservation of Birds. In 2022, Uemura was also awarded Japan’s Order of Culture. This print was made after one of his paintings, depicting 2 birds in shallow water.
