Description: From the set 'Famous Bridges in the Provinces set'. The set was originally published in about 1834, and all of its prints are signed Saki no Hokusai Iitsu Hitsu ("by the brush of Iitsu, formerly named Hokusai") in the block. There are eleven known prints in the series, each depicting, as the title indicates, a different famous bridge.

A long pontoon bridge made from planks of wood resting on wooden boats joins two snowy banks in this print by Hokusai. This is the only design in this series that depicts a winter landscape and the calmness that radiates is appreciated by many collectors, including Claude Monet who owned a print.

This version is a post-war reproduction by Adachi Company.
