Description: From the set 'Famous Bridges in the Provinces set'. The set was originally published in about 1834, and all of its prints are signed Saki no Hokusai Iitsu Hitsu ("by the brush of Iitsu, formerly named Hokusai") in the block. There are eleven known prints in the series, each depicting, as the title indicates, a different famous bridge.

The use of a bird's eye view, making the print resemble a map, allows Hokusai to depict both bridges at the foot of Mt. Tenpō in this work. With hardly a cloud in the sky and the sakura trees in full bloom, the day is perfect for a walk up the mountain, and we can see many people doing just that in this print.

This version is a post-war reproduction by Adachi Company.
