Description: From the set 'Famous Bridges in the Provinces set'. The set was originally published in about 1834, and all of its prints are signed Saki no Hokusai Iitsu Hitsu ("by the brush of Iitsu, formerly named Hokusai") in the block. There are eleven known prints in the series, each depicting, as the title indicates, a different famous bridge.

In another dramatic scene by Hokusai, a wooden bridge is depicted connecting two temples, one perched precariously on a large piece of rock jutting up from the heavy mist. There are no human figures in the print, and the scene seems so magical that one can imagine a dragon or mythological creature preparing to emerge from the clouds below.

This version is a post-war reproduction by Adachi Company.
