Description: This print depicts a sparrow in mid-flight above stalks of bamboo leaves rendered in shades of gray and orange.
The bird and bamboo stand out against a softly shaded background that transitions from blue to pale orange.

At the upper part of the composition, a poem is inscribed:

“In admiration of
the ways of the Chinese,
this printing process
carries a feeling for red
even into the bamboo.”

This version is a post-war reproduction by the Uchida Art Company. The publisher’s seal appears in the lower right margin.

There is foxing and toning on the print.
