Description: Yukihiko Yasuda (1884–1978) was mainly known for his historical themed paintings, portraits and nature paintings. Born in Nihonbashi, Tokyo, he later studied Tosa-ha painting at the school that later became the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. During his studies there, his talent drew attention and he was sent to Nara, where he studied Yamato-e painting. During 1944 to 1951, he worked as a professor at his old university in Tokyo and in 1948, he received the Order of Culture. He also became a member of the Japan Art Academy.

This print is based on one of his flower paintings. In Japan, the camellia represents patience. This design shows a simple but beautiful color palette, in which the bright red, white and green shades enhance and complement each other, while the bold black and gold vase stands out from the background.

This print is toned overall.
