At 15, he began studying under the Japanese-style painter Tsukioka Kōgyo, and subsequently focused on creating works related to Noh theater. This set, published by Unsodo around 1975 as a 12-month series, includes four original designs by Sofu himself. For the remaining half, his second son, Hideyo, completed the designs, adding "Okina" and "Shōjō" from Sohfu's posthumous works. Each of the 12 prints comes with both English and Japanese explanations. Carver: Michio Nagashima The dimensions given are for each print.
