Description: Ido Masao (1945-2016) lived in Kyoto starting in 1957 and began making woodblock prints in 1972. He became one of the leading contemporary printmakers, with many of his works held in renowned art museums both in Japan and abroad. Fascinated by Kyoto's beauty, he dedicated his life to his art with the desire to pass on Japan's irreplaceable beauty and the traditional art of woodblock printmaking to the next generation.

This print is from the series "Twelve Views of Kyoto." Gio-ji Temple is famous for its moss gardens and falling autumn leaves, but this print shows a deep layer of snow as seen from the entrance to the temple grounds.

This edition is limited to 100 copies, each numbered and signed by the artist.
