Description: This interesting senshafuda print features a monkey dressed in traditional clothes with formal headwear for court nobles. It is holding strips of white paper suspended from a long ritual wand, typically used in Shinto rituals. It is mimicking and performing the Sanbaso dance, a traditional kabuki dance that is performed to celebrate auspicious occasions, such as theater openings or New Year's Day.

The composition is full of energy, and captures the principal figure in dynamic motion. It is elegantly framed by calligraphy featuring various names, positioned across the top and bottom of the design.
