Description: This print is a frontispiece, possibly from the novel The Flowered Robe (Hanagoromo), 1899, by Hibi Ôsuke (1860-1931).

Ryûu was a talented artist from the Kawabata Gyokusho's school, a representative painter of modern Japanese painting. He excelled in landscapes, flowers and birds, and portraits, and produced portraits of beautiful women with delicate, graceful, and realistic expression, as in this work.

This print is toned and has a few wormholes. The paper strip is glued onto the back.
