It was published by Uchida in Kyoto in the 1950s. Each print depicts a maiko (an apprentice geisha) from Kyoto. Till this day, Kyoto still remains the most famous city in Japan for its geisha. The titles of the prints are as follows: Spring: 'Eventide' Summer: 'The Bonfire Festival of Daimonji Hill' Autumn: 'The Maple Leaves of Kiyomizu Temple' Winter: 'Snow Scene at the Gion Shrine' The 'autumn' print has a different color palette than some other versions of this set.
