Description: This is originally a set of nine pochi-bukuro (small decorative envelopes) that came in an outer sleeve, but unfortunately, we acquired it without it. It is titled "Generational Likenesses from the First Ichikawa Danjuro: In Association with the Nine Stars (kyusei)." Kyūsei Kabuki refers to actor prints (yakusha-e) that combine the nine stars of Japanese astrology with generations of Ichikawa Danjuro actors. In other words, it's a series of actor prints depicting the Danjuro lineage up to the ninth generation, each likened to one of the nine stars. The printing is exceptionally delicate, and some parts are shining using silver pigment.

The dimensions given are for each print.
