Description: Sano Seiji (1959-present) is a leading figure in contemporary woodblock printing. He began his printmaking journey in 1984, studying under Ido Masao. Sano is known for his poetic and emotional style, which captures the nostalgic beauty of traditional Japanese landscapes.

This print features a detail of a kaki (persimmon) tree. The vibrant red-orange fruits stand out vividly against the soft hues of a sunrise sky. Behind the branch, the straw roof of a house is partially visible, its texture adding a rustic touch. The tree’s wavy branches fill the foreground, bringing rhythm and movement to the entire composition.
