He became one of the leading contemporary printmakers, with many of his works held in renowned art museums both in Japan and abroad. Fascinated by Kyoto's beauty, he dedicated his life to his art with the desire to pass on Japan's irreplaceable beauty and the traditional art of woodblock printmaking to the next generation. This print depicts a beautiful autumn rice field scene with colorful foliage in Ohara, a village rich in nature located northeast of Kyoto.
