Description: This print depicts many fishermen, using nets to catch sea bream, the local delicacy. Even today, Goshiki Beach is a well known beach on Awaji island, in Hyogo prefecture, located in the Seto Inland Sea.

This design is part of the ‘Famous Views of the Sixty-odd Provinces’ series by Ando Hiroshige. He created one famous view from each of the (back then) 68 provinces. With one additional print of Edo (now Tokyo) and a list of contents, the series consists of 70 prints in total. The series was first published by Koshimuraya Heisuke from 1853 to 1856. This version is a post-war reproduction by Mainichi Art Publishing.
