Designer: Ogura Yuki Era: Recent | Currency: $ / £ / € Price: ![]() Description: Born in Ōtsu City, Yuki Ogura was a prominent Nihonga (Japanese-style) painter whose career spanned nearly the entire 20th century. She remained artistically active until her death at the age of 105. In 1932, she became the first female member of the Japan Fine Arts Academy, and in 1980, she was awarded the Bunka Kunshō (Order of Culture), becoming only the second woman painter to receive this prestigious honor. Best known for her refined depictions of women, family life, and still lifes, Ogura’s work is often praised for its modern sensibility. This elegant still life features a lush arrangement of camellias in full bloom, showcasing a rich palette of colors—from vivid reds and pure whites to delicately mottled petals. The flowers are placed in a traditional blue-and-white Japanese ceramic vase. Set atop a deep red tablecloth, the composition is framed by a shimmering golden background adding a subtle shimmer to the whole design. ![]() Browse thumbnail pages of various selections from the catalogue ...
