Description: This dynamic kabuki print features Ichikawa Monnosuke II as Soga no Goro and Segawa Kikunojo III as Tsukisayo, in the play Nanakusa Yosooi Soga.

Ichikawa Monnosuke stands confidently, dressed in a striking black kimono adorned with colorful butterflies. Beneath it, a vivid red inner robe bearing his square crest adds contrast, accentuating his bold red kumadori makeup on his face. He grips his sable sword, holding it downward in a gesture of control and poise.

At his feet, Tsukisayo, portrayed by Segawa Kikunojo III, is positioned in a half-seated pose, reaching for the sword. Her elaborate costume blends rich reds, blues, and greens.

In the background, a blooming cherry tree adds a touch of seasonal beauty, while the three musicians of the orchestra provide a subtle but essential presence, grounding the theatrical scene in its performative context.
